Pleural Disease & Mesothelioma for Specialist Nurses - 2025

The course is primarily aimed at clinical nurse specialists but would also be relevant to all advanced care practitioners and allied health professionals.

The aim of the day is to meet the competencies of advanced nursing practice defined by the Nursing and Midwifery Council.

The learning objectives are:

  • Promote a comprehensive understanding of the diagnostic and management pathways in MPE, with a particular focus on Mesothelioma
  • Provide nurses with knowledge to discuss diagnosis and management of patients with malignant pleural disease
  • Understanding patient selection for interventional procedures
  • Help to build a comprehensive understanding of the use of procedures, medications and self-management techniques. 
  • How to support nurses involvement in and undertaking research with examples.
